If your property is empty for the winter, extended periods of time or even if you are just off on your holiday for a few weeks, it makes sense for it to be checked. If properties are not checked within a small time frame, then your household insurance may not cover any damage or loss which could prove to be very costly.
To help prevent this, we carry out weekly internal and external inspections of your property when it is empty to visually check for the following:
| • Forced Entry |
• Vandalism |
| • Break-ins |
• Storm Damage |
| • Water Ingress |
• Window/door security |
| • Damp |
• Pests |
| • Redirect any Post |
• Electronic Security |
At the end of each randomly timed inspection, our Property Check Inspectors complete a visit report that records the visit and lists any priority actions. Should we find any high priority actions then we can use our own staff to remedy them or appoint specialist contractors.
Property Checking is available on an annual basis or when you go away on holiday. Whilst on holiday, we can check your property daily and carry out other necessary tasks.
Important note
It is a mandatory requirement of most holiday/second home insurance companies to have properties regularly inspected when they are empty. Without proof of regular inspections, any insurance claims submitted may be limited or declined which could prove to be very expensive.
